About the Organisation

The Australian Intervarsity Choral Societies Association (AICSA) is the coordinating body of student-led university choirs throughout Australia. Since 1950 these choirs have come together as a non-competitive intervarsity choral festival (IVCF) to sing large choral works. AICSA choirs and festivals have commissioned new works and contributed to generations of Australians’ love of choral music. Laudate in the Lounge, initiated by Pete Nurse – an AICSA chorister – is the first physically distant online intervarsity choral event. Pete didn’t quite know what was being generated when he started it, but many AICSA traditions of gathering were renewed online. Watch the videos for ‘What Laudate Means to Me’ to see the ruminations of AICSA choristers from across the country, and check the group’s socials to join.
